Christian Service Commission
"We come not to be served, but to serve"

Christian Service is a 24/7 Ministry at Holy Innocents-St. Barnabas Parish and is recognized as one of the organized Commissions of the Parish's evangelization effort. It's members strive to address the human needs of the parishioners, as well as those in the surrounding areas, through a variety of programs.

Our volunteers are under the leadership of Michelle Glandon.

Listed below are some of our projects

Grounds Maintenance: Help to maintain the flowerbed. These volunteers set their own hours and work in an area they choose.

Right to Life Sunday: Pro-Life Christmas cards are sold before and after Masses.

Advent Giving Tree: Ornaments are placed on the tree before Advent. Ornaments reflect the needs of many outreach programs. Materials donated are distributed prior to Christmas.

Parish Blood Drive: Five Blood Drives are planned per year. (See Church Calendar for dates.)

Mother's Day Flower Sale: Flowers are sold after all Masses on Mother's Day. Proceeds go to Right to Life of Southeast Macomb.

MCREST: A temporary emergency shelter to the homeless for one week in the fall.

Ministry of Praise: This is a "Prayer Ministry." Members receive a quarterly newsletter along with a prayer booklet. New members are enrolled at an Anointing Mass.

Sunshine: Get well cards are sent every other month to those who are on the sick list in the Church bulletin.

Counseling Service: Is provided upon request. svdpjustice@gmail.com or call 855-8SVDPJI (855-878-3754)
